How often do you exercise?

I try to get a vigorous and intentional workout in about 3x per week.

Do you prefer to workout in the morning, afternoon, or evening?

Usually in the morning to set the mindset and pace for my day, but with the unpredictability in my schedule, it’s usually whenever I can find a gap between obligations and can afford to get a good sweat in!

What is your preferred type of workout?

I prefer high-intensity interval training with combo body weight, and cardio exercises. I prefer workouts that take every ounce of energy out of me – that’s when I feel like I really got a good workout in. But I’m sure that will change with age! I’ll take it while I can!

Do you work out alone or with others?

Oh, I HAVE to have someone pushing me. That’s why I use Burnalong on the road, The accountability is EVERYTHING for me. Since I really look forward to my pizza and buffalo wings, I need someone keeping my head in the game while I’m working out.

How do you motivate yourself?

My motivation is just as much internal as it is external. As a female in the entertainment industry, my “look” and fitness is a big part of being on-camera most days, so that external pressure definitely keeps me motivated. And of course, when I feel at my best, most confident and most disciplined, I perform better in all aspects of my life.

Do you add variety to your workout? If so, how?

Absolutely. Every day for me is totally different than the last, and I love that about my life. So I need the variety in my workout routines just the same way. If I knew what I was getting every time, I don’t know if I could do it. I thrive on the change and the unknown so some days I’ll focus more on cardio, some days legs, some days arms, and I usually attack them in totally different ways than I did the week prior.

What is your advice for women trying to “do it all?” How do you prioritize and make time for everything?

As any busy woman knows, it is definitely a challenge. Just like everything in life, it’s priorities. The hardest part is STARTING. Once you feel the benefits physically and mentally, it becomes a second nature part of your day, just like any other habit would be. My advice would be just to set a small milestone for yourself. Workout 4 times each week for 4 weeks, even if it’s just 15-30 minutes. Hit that goal. Then set your next one. Before you know it, it’s second nature for you & your body and your mind will reward you. 🙂
